Isaiah 49:1-6

Listen to me, all of you in far-off lands! The LORD called me before my birth; from within the womb he called me by name.

He made my words of judgment as sharp as a sword.

He has hidden me in the shadow of his hand. I am like a sharp arrow in his quiver.

He said to me, "You are my servant, Israel, and you will bring me glory."

I replied, "But my work all seems so useless! I have spent my strength for nothing and to no purpose at all. Yet I leave it all in the LORD's hand; I will trust God for my reward."

The Facts...

Facts don't make the man, they say. And I tend to agree. I'd almost rather skip this page entirely, and let you guess about the person behind the website. Leave it a mystery. People love mysteries. You could imagine up a person in your head that would be, no doubt, more satisfying to you than the truth.

But that would undermine the whole point of this website. The truth! I'm all about the Way, the Truth and the Life we have in Jesus. So here's the truth about me...

Just the Facts

Photo: Teddi DeppnerTheodora ("Teddi") Deppner.

Born in 1973. Female. Oldest of five kids. Raised in California. Married (and loving it!) since 1993. A mother since 2003.

Grew up in a legalistic "Christian" church (isn't that an oxymoron?). Truly born again sometime around 1995 (it's hard to track down the exact moment of salvation when you've known about God all your life). Filled with the Holy Spirit since March 1997. Serving my local congregation as volunteer worship leader (rotating with several others) since 1996. I give a sermon every once in a while, and speak at our women's retreat when given the chance.

Worked in the professional work world as a technical writer, adult education teacher, web designer and project manager until 2003. Full-time homemaker and freelance artist/writer since then.

That's the short version. For any other information, you'll have to email me yourself!
